In this WP Builds ‘Contribute’ episode, Branden Tolle explains how he’s been able to get Gravity Forms to create unique gift cards with numbers that never repeat.
It’s for a… wait for it… axe throwing company in his area who needed a simple way to get people to pay for a gift card online which the owners of the company could manually reconcile against a spreadsheet.
Branden took on the challenge and hooked up Gravity Forms with Zapier to push the data from the form into a Google Sheet.
He also made sure that the gift card numbers never repeated, as this could be a real problem for the owners fo the company.
Later he added in WooCommerce capabilities, but we don’t cover that in too much detail.
He’s put together a blog post which shows you how he did this as well as the code that he used to make it all work.
It’s a great idea and I’ll bet that you can all think of 100 ways that you could repurpose this to make your own fun things!
